Lijiang
- the second of the "Old Cities"
|
|
|
Lijiang
was the second of the old cities we visited, but this one is
more well-known to the world. In 1996, the city of Lijiang was
leveled by an earthquake, but surprisingly, it was the newer,
more modern sections of town which were hardest hit. The old,
walled city stood up well, and UNESCO made it into a World Heritage
Site. |
